Apple 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max – Single-Port USB-C Fast Charger (Model A3351)

If you’re comparing charger wattages before buying, here’s what actually matters with Apple’s 40W Dynamic Power Adapter: it isn’t a flat 60W brick, and it isn’t a dual-port hub. It’s a single USB-C port adapter that sustains 40W of continuous output and dynamically boosts to 60W in short bursts for a small set of newer devices — a distinction Apple calls Dynamic Power, backed by a feature called Adjustable Voltage Supply (AVS) that fine-tunes voltage delivery for efficiency rather than just pushing maximum wattage constantly.

The model number is A3351, and it ships in a genuinely compact, pocket-size shell with folding prongs — about the same footprint as Apple’s older 20W adapter, not the larger 61W or 96W bricks Mac users are used to. In Bangladesh, both 2-pin and 3-pin plug variants circulate through different resellers, so it’s worth confirming which plug type you’re buying before checkout, especially if you’re pairing it with a UK-style socket setup.

The reason this adapter exists is the iPhone 17 lineup. Apple’s own testing shows the 40W Dynamic Power Adapter reaching 50% charge on iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max in around 20 minutes, iPhone Air in around 30 minutes, iPhone Duo in around 20 minutes, and the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max in around 15 minutes — all using a 60W-capable USB-C cable, sold separately. If you own an iPhone 12, 13, 14, 15, or 16 series device, this adapter will still charge it — it’s broadly backward compatible — but you won’t see a meaningful speed advantage over a standard 20W USB-C adapter, because those models’ fast-charge ceiling is already met at 20W. That single fact resolves the most common pre-purchase question we see for this product: “do I need the 40W or will 20W do?” For anything before the iPhone 17 series, the answer is: 20W is enough; buy the 40W only if you’re future-proofing or already own a compatible newer device.

Beyond iPhones, Apple lists this adapter as compatible with a wide span of its USB-C ecosystem: iPad Pro, iPad Air, iPad mini, and standard iPad models; MacBook Air (M1 through M4, plus 2018–2020 Intel Retina models); every Apple Watch from Series 1 through the newest Ultra and SE generations; the full AirPods range including AirPods Max; and Apple Vision Pro. That breadth is the real value case — one charger covers nearly everything in a mixed Apple household, replacing several separate bricks.

What’s actually in the box is just the adapter itself. Apple doesn’t include a USB-C cable, and to unlock the full 60W dynamic boost you need a cable rated for 60W or higher — a standard low-wattage USB-C cable will bottleneck the charge speed regardless of the adapter’s capability. This is worth flagging before checkout, since it’s the single most common reason buyers report “it’s not charging faster than my old charger.”

For anyone shopping in Dhaka or ordering nationwide through Cellora BD, this adapter makes the most sense if you own an iPhone 17-series device, an iPhone Air, or you’re consolidating chargers across an iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and AirPods setup into a single, compact travel adapter. If your primary device is an older iPhone and charging speed isn’t a bottleneck in your day, Apple’s standard 20W adapter remains the more cost-effective choice.

Cellora BD sells this adapter with a genuine sales invoice and in-person verification available at our Jamuna Future Park counter, alongside compatible USB-C cables rated to support the full 60W dynamic output.

10. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What does “Dynamic Power” mean on this Apple adapter?
It means the adapter sustains 40W continuously but can boost to 60W in short bursts for compatible newer devices, using Apple’s Adjustable Voltage Supply technology to fine-tune voltage delivery rather than simply outputting a flat wattage.

Is this the same as a regular 60W charger?
No. It’s rated for 40W sustained output with a dynamic 60W peak only under specific conditions with supported devices — it is not a flat 60W adapter.

Do I need this adapter for iPhone 12, 13, or 14?
No. Those models reach their fast-charge threshold at 20W, so a standard 20W USB-C adapter charges them just as fast in practice.

Which iPhones actually benefit from the 60W boost?
iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, iPhone Air, iPhone Duo, and iPhone 18 Pro/Pro Max are the models Apple confirms reach 50% charge faster with this adapter.

Does this adapter have one port or two?
One. It is a single USB-C port adapter, not a dual-port charger.

What cable do I need with this adapter?
A USB-C cable rated for 60W or higher is required to reach the full dynamic output; a lower-rated cable will bottleneck charging speed.

Can it charge a MacBook Air?
Yes, it’s compatible with MacBook Air models from the M1 generation through the latest M4/M5 13-inch and 15-inch models, as well as select older Intel Retina MacBook Air models.
